Ragnarok Online Private Servers

A Ragnarok Online private server is a fan-run version of the classic Ragnarok Online MMORPG, usually built on open-source emulators such as rAthena or Hercules. Each Ragnarok server sets its own rules: experience and drop rates, which episode it follows, which jobs are available and how much custom content it adds.

Private servers are run by their own communities and are not affiliated with Gravity, the publisher of the official game. RateMyRagnarok lists them side by side so you can compare them and read what players say before you download a client.

Start with how you want to play. Pick a game type, Pre-Renewal for classic mechanics or Renewal for third and fourth jobs, then a rate, from low rate for a slow, classic grind to high rate for fast progression. The filters at the top of this page narrow the list for you.

Then open a few servers and compare their rates, episode, features and player reviews. Recent reviews are the best sign of how a server is doing today.

The default Top Rated order uses a weighted score rather than a plain average, so a server backed by many reviews is not pushed down by one with a single perfect score. Only reviews from the selected time range count (the last three months by default), and servers without reviews in that range are listed after the ones that have them.

You can change the time range, or sort by Most Reviews, Newest or A-Z.

Pre-Renewal servers recreate Ragnarok Online as it played before the Renewal update: a level cap of 99, the original stat and damage formulas, and the second and transcendent jobs many players grew up with. Renewal servers use the updated mechanics, raise the level cap well beyond 99 and add third jobs, and on newer episodes fourth jobs as well.

There are currently 10 Pre-Renewal and 6 Renewal servers listed.

The rate is how much faster you gain experience and items than on the official game. A 1x server matches the original pace, while a 5x server gives five times the experience. Low rate servers keep the slow, classic grind; mid rate and high rate servers let you level and gear up faster; and super high rate servers get you to the end game almost straight away so you can focus on PvP and War of Emperium.

Each server chooses its own category, so always check the exact base, job and drop rates shown on its listing.

Ragnarok Mobile (Ragnarok M: Eternal Love) and Ragnarok Origin are separate games, built primarily for mobile, rather than versions of Ragnarok Online, so their private servers are not listed here. RateMyRagnarok covers Ragnarok Online private servers only.

Most Ragnarok Online private servers are played on the Windows PC client, but some offer a mobile client too. According to the details their owners have submitted, TransparencyRO offers a mobile app.

Check the server's own website to see which devices it supports, such as Android phones and tablets, before you download anything.

12 of the 16 servers listed describe their region as International, meaning they are aimed at players worldwide, including Indonesia and the rest of Southeast Asia. If low ping matters most, look for servers hosted in Asia: Oasis RO, PoyoRagnarok and Gonryun Rising: Genesis list their region as Asia.

The servers listed right now run in English or support multiple languages, and none is offered in Indonesian yet. Each server page shows its region and language, and a server's Discord or website is the quickest way to ask about ping from where you live.

Open Newest servers to see the latest additions first. The most recently added are Oasis RO (October 2026), PoyoRagnarok (September 2026) and Chrono RO (July 2026).

New Ragnarok private servers are added as their owners submit them, so check back as launches for 2027 are announced.

Create an account, then add your server from the Servers section of your account with its rates, features, links and screenshots. Once it has been reviewed and approved, it appears in this list, where players can find it and leave reviews.
