Overview

Satan Morroc awakens and devastates the desert city. The once-familiar Morroc is left in ruins with a massive dimensional rift and new field maps surrounding the destruction. This marks the beginning of the Renewal era, a turning point in Ragnarok Online history.

The Mage Knight Thanatos sealed Satan Morroc a thousand years ago, but the seal has broken. The demon's resurrection destroyed entire regions of the Sograt Desert, replacing them with a twisted anomaly of time and space known as the Dimensional Gorge. A refugee camp near the Pyramids serves the displaced citizens.

Story

Long ago, the Mage Knight Thanatos battled and sealed away the greater demon, Satan Morroc. The fallout from the battle destroyed the south eastern part of the Rune-Midgard Kingdom, creating what is now the Sograt Desert. To protect the seal, the people constructed a castle above it. Before long, buildings and tents were built around the castle, and the city took the name of the demon: "Morroc."

One thousand years have passed, and Satan Morroc has awakened once again. All trace of the once great desert city has disappeared, leaving only sorrow and destruction in its wake. The sacrifice of the heroes of old was put to waste.

The city and the desert sand were soaked in the blood of all living things slaughtered by the resurrection. Now freed from its bonds, the evil that can twist the very fabric of reality looms across the land: the greatest peril that the Midgard Continent will ever face has arrived. Morroc has risen.

The Aftermath

Following Satan Morroc's resurrection, the city has changed substantially. The Morroc Castle has been completely leveled, and many surrounding structures are destroyed or abandoned. Refugees have set up a camp near the Pyramids, with services relocated from the ruined city.

Satan Morroc immediately destroyed all paths leading to Morroc to prevent being sealed again. He devastated the desert and the lands to the north. No living creature survived his fury. Entire regions of the Sograt Desert simply ceased to exist, replaced by the Dimensional Gorge.

Adventurers quickly spread the news. Many rumors circulated as the public grew anxious. Guilds organized to fight and confine Satan Morroc. Most perished in vain, but eventually a group of warriors drove Morroc away to another dimension, leaving a huge time-space gap. Satan Morroc is gone for now, but no one knows how long recovery will take.

The Dimensional Gorge

The Dimensional Gorge is the transformed ruins of the old Sograt Desert, warped by Satan Morroc's resurrection and home to high-level monsters. Pockets of torn space riddle the desert. Access requires Level 80 and beginning the Continental Guard quest.

Within this zone, you will find many apparitions of Satan Morroc. As part of the quest, you can summon and battle Satan Morroc with a recommended team of at least 20 players. Upon defeat, Morroc retreats into a dimensional rift. After completing the quest, you can follow the Wounded Morroc and challenge him again as an MVP boss.
