Overview

The Interdimensional Biospheres are habitats found inside Varmundt Mansion that were never in the mansion's own records. The story explanation is a dimensional collision: part of another world's Varmundt Mansion overlapping with this one, leaving a breach that is still open. In practice they are very high level hunting maps with their own currency, their own cards and a set of purge operations to run on a timer. This first wave opens two of them, Ground and Volcano.

This is not Chapter 3. It belongs to Chapter 2 and was added to it after the chapter itself went live.

Base Level: 265 Also needs: Episode 17.2 and Chapter 2 finished Monster levels: 276 to 280 Operations: Gunsi

When kRO released it

Gravity rolled the Biosphere out in three waves, all of them after Chapter 2. The first wave is the one covered here, and the other two have their own guides.

2026.04.15 Interdimensional Biosphere: Ground and Volcano this page

Two more things landed in the same stretch and are worth knowing about if you are following kRO: the level cap went to 285 on 2026.08.19 alongside the Throne of the Black Flame Dragon memorial dungeon, and Juno Library VOL3 followed on 2026.09.16.

Getting in

  1. Talk to Hongsi at /navi ygg_edge 229/221, next to Lara.
  2. You are sent through Varmundt Mansion. The Mansion Steward sits at /navi ba_in01 340/300.
  3. The breach hub is ba_void. From there two warps split the habitats: Ground at 139/202 and Volcano at 139/216. Gunsi, who runs the operations, is in the north wing at /navi ba_void 130/207.
Who you will meet

Hongsi, Gunsi and the Mansion Steward share one look, an android maid, so go by the name above the head. Click a sprite to find it in the NPC gallery.

Monsters and what they drop

Eight creatures per habitat, each with a plain and a Tough version. The Tough ones keep the same level with 1.75 times the HP (about 1.9 for the Rakehand and the Fireloop) and about 1.5 times the EXP, so they are a damage check rather than a different fight. Unlike the later waves, each monster here has its own drop list. The table under each habitat shows who drops what, at the rates in the data before any drop bonus.

Purge operations

The habitats are treated as managed zones, and the population control work is where the steady income is. Both habitats have a daily and a weekly, taken from Gunsi at /navi ba_void 130/207. The kill counter accepts both the plain and the Tough version of every monster in that habitat. The weekly asks for 15 Mana Rings to join (a Chapter 1 item), because you will be in the other dimension a long time.

Exchanges

Everything is bought from the All-Purpose Dongle at /navi ba_void 138/112. Materials come off the monsters, then convert upward: essences and rune shards become runes, runes plus card shards become cards.

Gear

All five pieces need Base Level 265, and all of them can be refined and graded. The weapons drop in the habitats; the cloak is bought. The four weapons share one pattern: ATK +25 per 2 refines, and P.ATK +1 plus 5% melee damage (the daggers) or ranged damage (the maces) per 3 refines. At +7: ATK +10% and P.ATK +5. At +12: non-critical damage +10%. Grade D adds ATK +5% and another 10% melee or ranged damage, grade C adds non-critical damage +10%, and grade B adds 10% physical damage against every element.

Cards

Eight weapon cards, bought at the Dongle. On their own every one of them gives ATK +10%. Each weapon has two cards that add a bonus with it, and the pair together unlocks a stronger effect once the weapon is at grade A and refined to +12.

Enchanting and refining

The Dongle enchants the Relentless Manteau of Ruin.

The cloak has two enchant slots, filled in a fixed order: the 4th slot first, then the 3rd. Nothing can fail. You pay the Dongle, and the result is rolled from the list below.

  • 4th slot: a random STR, INT, AGI or VIT: +3 at 20% each; +4 at 4.5% each; +5 at 0.5% each. No DEX or LUK on this list.
  • 3rd slot: one of eight level 1 runes: Strong Attack, Master Craftsman, Slash, One Strike, Magic, Magic Power, Diamond, Benevolence. Each sits at 12.4%, except one at 13.2%.
  • Upgrading the rune keeps the family and raises the level. Level 1 to 2: 10,000,000z + both of the cloak's runes x50 each + Essence of Chaotic Magic Power x30 + Essence of Heterogeneous Magic Power x15. Level 2 to 3: 25,000,000z + both of the cloak's runes x100 each + Essence of Chaotic Magic Power x50 + Essence of Heterogeneous Magic Power x20 + Fixed Crack x10.
  • Reset: 10,000,000z + Fixed Crack x1, and it works 80% of the time.

Refining with leaves

The Dimensional Ecology Leaves and the Foliage add one refine level, with no chance of failure, to a piece that is already at +9, +10 or +11. Two of them drop here: the Tough Goat drops the Earth leaf and the Tough Rakehand the Earth & Volcano foliage.

Still not in the data. The random option table for the weapons that drop here, and the extra cost of a leaf refine, are in none of the files, so they are not documented here. The cloak's enchant table above arrived with the wave 2 and wave 3 data, which carries it for all six Biosphere cloaks.
Where this comes from. The monsters, drops, quests and exchange costs are read out of the server scripts for this content, and the enchant table and the Specimen contents come from the later wave 2 and 3 data. Gear and card effects are translated from the kRO client's own item descriptions, and the sprites, icons and card art are the client's too. Weights are shown as the game shows them. The release dates come from Gravity's own kRO update list.
